Today is the start of New Zealand Sign Language Week and in honor of it my class and other classes at my school are learning how to use sign language. We've only been learning easy/simple signs but i hope we end up at least learning how to make a sentence.

Cross Country
On Friday our school had our annual cross country, Everyone was super excited about it and couldn't wait. We had our morning tea and got changed into our house colors, Then we had lunch.
After Lunch it was time for the moment we've been training for the big race. Our classes lined up and walked to the netball courts, All the students participating we're there waiting to start the races.
Mr Burt told us where to go on the track then handed the mic to Inga one of Pt England's house captains so she could say the prayer.
The year four students we're the first to race since it would be easier for them the school to keep track of time. When the year four students finished their race it was the year 3 and then year 2 and year 1, they didn't go at the same time but that was the order they went in.
Now it was time of the big races a.k.a the older kids. The year 5 boys were the first to start the races. A little while after the year 5 boys started the year 8 girls where up.
We all lined up and waited for Mr Burt to slam the pieces of wood together, I felt nervous about the race but at the same time i didn't. 'BOOM' the wood was slammed together and all the girls started running.
It was a rush of nervousness and excitement, I ran a for a while before stopping and walking. I walked the rest of the way not bothered at all what over people thought. I finished the race and everyone was drinking their water bottles and cooling off.
Everyone finished their races and we got changed out of our clothes so we didn't stink for the rest of the day. When we were done getting changed we went back to class and chilled out until the bell went for us to go home.

When we arrived at camp we meet the owners of the camp, they introduced themselves and told us the boundaries and told us about a couple of fun activities we were going to do that day.
Our first activity was called "Cross Games" it's were your team vs other teams compete against each other in multiple activities. They were really fun and they showed us how to work and move around like a team.
We had a lot of activities we did during our leadership camp but these are a few of my favorite ones.
