Soft Ball

Today Rm 13 went to softball and learned some new skills.

The first one was the monkey, the monkey is when you get down on your knees and swing our arms side to side. Also we learnt the butterfly, the butterfly is like how butterflies flap their wings.

After we did our skills we played a little game is called sneaky base the way it work is there is home base 1st base 2nd base and 3rd base.

Athletics Day

On Friday 11th of  November Pt England School had athletics. There were lots of different types of sports  and it was really fun.

My favourite sport was youth town Game 1 that was super fun.

Manaiakalani Film Festival

On Wednesday the 9th  of November the year 1 to year 6 went to Sylvia park, Hoyts

Cinemas to watch the films that all the class made.The movies was great.

Oobleck

Today we made Oobleck and it was fun the ingredients are cornflour and water.

It looks like slime and when you bash the Oobleck it goes hard.Also it goes very gooey and slimy.

It was a solid and a liquid when you punch the oobleck it’s a solid but when you run it down you fingers it turns into slime.

The Paralympics

The Paralympics are just like the normale Olympics.

But the different thing about it is the people that play there, there body parts don’t work properly.

At the Paralympics New Zealand won 9 golds, 5 silver and 7 brons.

The thing that is amazing about the Paralympics. even though  there body parts don’t work properly they still do it and still finished.   

The Crazy Story

 There was a flying car in the sky a lucy saw it , the whole street saw it as well.

Every kid in the neighborhood wanted to fly in it. But one day it crashed in a tree up by the river bank. The whole  neighborhood were talking about the crash. And also about who was in the car they never knew who was in it and who was driving it.It was a mystery………..

My Story.

Once upon a time there was a little girl called Nala who lived in the city  with her mum and dad . Every morning she  would wake up and feed his two pet bunnies called Pumbaa and Timon. One morning when Nala woke up.

The cage was BROKEN and she didn’t know were they were.But when she looked out the window all she saw was a BIG EYE she was so scary she ran all the way to her mum  and dad’s room she went outside with her dad her dad was like holy sheeks what did you do. She was like those are not my bunnies her dad said ohhh yes they are yours missy.

But all that crazy niss was just a dream she woke and told her parents all about her crazy dream or was it a dream. Or was  it .

Cross Country

On Friday the 19 of August Pt England school had Cross-Country. At morning my class got changed the girls got changed in the toilet and the boys got changed in the classroom before the girls got to go in the class we had to wait until the boys were finish.   

I’m in Hokule’a and I hope that I did my best at Cross-Country.

Derek Redmond

Derek Redmond was in a running race in 1992.

He is from Britain.

He ran so fast that his hamstring snapped He was in so much pain but he didn't give up he carried on even though he hurt his leg he hopped on one foot.    

Dad came and saved the day by helping him get to the finish line on the way dad was pushing other people away so Derek could finish the race.

Katinka Hosszu

I am a champion swimmer and I won a gold medal for breaking a world record. The equipment I need togs goggles. And I’m from Hungary. Before the race I felt scared  because  thousands of people were  watching me . But  at the same time I felt nervous . During race  I was thinking am I going to win . I was amazed that I won the race and broke the WORLD  RECORD  in 4 minutes and 26 seconds. In  400 metre individual women’s medley. I looked at my coach AND she was JUMPING even her husband.

Olympic torch

The Olympic torch goes around goes around Rio de Janeiro. If the torch has to be transported on a airplane , it is placed in a special security lamp that operates like a miner’s lamp.

Olympics

The Olympics are in Rio De Janeiro .Olympics are in 2 days but a New Zealand it is on Saturday and Rio it says on Friday 5th August.

Ancient Olympics

The first Olympics games took place about 3000 years ago in Olympia Greece .The games were held to honour Zeus the king of the gods and they happened every 4 years. In the beginning the games were just short running races for Greek men to get fit for war . there was only one winner and the winner got a crown of olive leaves. Over time other events were added like horse racing and boxing. After 1000 years the Ancient Olympics were banned by the Christians .

 The ancient Olympics were always remember  For Hope and Peace .

The Sky Tower

The Sky Tower is in Auckland city, New Zealand . And it is also by the Harbour bridge.

The Sky Tower is 328 metres long but when you do the sky jump it is only 192 metres.At the very top it is ponty. And when you go in the elevator if you look down you will see how high you are. The sky tower is silver and gray.

You can do the sky jump and the sky walk. You can also ask questions on a tiny machine, there is also a seafood restaurant.

The Sky Tower lights up for Celebrates,holidays ,Charities and events.Orange and yellow is Matariki,Blue,white and red is Waitangi day and Red and green is Chirstmas.

My Dream Bedroom

TRIP TO TE TUHI

Today Room 13 went to Te Tuhi the art gallery. The first thing we did was get on the bus.Then we got to Te Tuhi and the first thing we did.Was look a the big
volcano with T.V.S around it.Then one of the workers came to us. His name was Jeremy he showed room 13 around . He took us to the art class.On the way there we saw artist painting in a room.We saw a big painting it was just a cross the class room that were going to use.We got to make up a dream house. 

Then after we did that we went to a dark room.There were things on the table .We watched a little clip about them.The next room we saw some men were mounting medal and then the trip was over.We went back to school and ate our lunch. 

Pt England art gallery

Yesterday room 13 went to the Pt England art gallery it was in the hall Mr J had been setting it up . So  we can look at the wonderful art.

My favourite thing about the art gallery was the winter cave. The resin i liked it was the lights were very pretty and i liked the glitter and the detail they put in it.

I felt very very scared with my art being on displayed in the art gallery

Coldplay

Coldplay is a British band from London , England.

The song is called Up and Up the album is called A Head Full of Dreams. Coldplay is a very famous band.

There is a volcano with popcorn exploding out of it and also people are swimming in a cup.Also a race track on Saturn’s ring.

   

My favourite part was when the dolphins were swimming under the houses.It is my favourite part becuse it looked cool up side down.

Manta Resort.

The Manta Resort Underwater in Africa.It is in the sea.

At day time the you can go on the roof on the sunbed.At nigth you can go on the sunbed and wach the stars.

You can go kayaking , snorkeling , lie down on the roof and watch the twinkling stars.Also a boat will take you to the hotel and jump off the roof.

Mice

The mouse has 2  big ears to hear cats coming and they have 4 sharp paws . Their tail is furless but their body has fur.They have long whiskers so they can feel at night.

Mouse eats seeds, vegetables, bread , fruit. Sometimes they eat paper and dog biscuits.

The Amazing Sydney Opera House .

The Sydney Opera house is in Australia and the city is Sydney.The Opera house it surrounded with water. It is next to the harbour bridge.

At day time the Opera house looks white.

The Opera house at night glows.

Inside the Sydney Opera house they do performances like singing, acting and gymnastics.Also 7 000 000 people go there to watch them.

Scary Hotel in Peru.

There is a Skylodge hotel in Peru.It is on the side of a clif by the road with lots of mountian .

On Tuesday after lunch the school went to the hall.when we got in the hall we saw i-luminat. They put on a show for us.The hall went black and i saw lots of lights go off and on .I recognise 2 of the songs.Turn down 4 what and Fancy.They had L.E.D. lights.My favourite part was when they switched heads.

Before we get in we have to get in our groups.

I enjoy going to the pools because it is a lot of fun.

Every Monday Room 13 goes to play Cricket .

Before we play we have to listen to the coach to know how to play. I enjoy playing Cricket because it is fun to play.

My best friend Mata plays with me and she sometimes comes over to my house .
