Cybersmart

Task Description : Today in cybersmart we had wheae heather come and teach us about cybersmart, create ,world and learn.

Bringing back extinct species is not worth a while .

Introduction

Have you ever wondered why would scientists bring back extinct species? Well, I have no idea! I especially think that de-extinction isn’t a good idea at all! Why? Well, let me spill some tea on why de-extinction isn’t a good idea! 

Environment

Food and environment have changed over time and those times food and environment have changed so have the extinct species. All extinct species food and environment might have changed over time, so they have to be able to get uses to their new surroundings and food. ( Then add more about the environment that you know about. )

Health

If scientists start to bring back extinct species, The life of the now living species could be at risk. Because the world has changed so reintroducing extinct animals that have been long gone, Could put modern habitats and food sources.

Conclusion

I think that it would be cool if they could bring back extinct species, but at the same time, I don't think it would be a good idea for this modern. So I don't think this is worth a while plus its a lot of money just to bring back species that could just be extinct again.

Immersion Assembly - Term 3

Today is the  first day of term 3, we had our Immersion assembly . Our Theme for this term is "Something in the water- He Mea Te Roto I Te Wai.  

 Today's Immersion assembly was a little different from some other Immersion Assembly that we had. We got to look at Mr.Burt, Mrs.Tele'a, Mr. Samerville and Ms. Va'afusuaga cook Prawns, Muscles, shrimps and Fish. Also Instead of the prefects giving out stickers, they were giving out Pieces of the food being cooked  on a toothpick.

Our school is divided up into teams  1 to 5 each team teachers have to come up with an Item or a Movie to show something the school what they are going to be learning about .  I was excited to watch and see what the other teams are going to learn about . 

My favorite one was Team 4's.  I liked it because it was very interesting and  funny at the same time. My favorite part is when the teachers went into the freezing cold water . I also like when they were telling us about a plankton it might sound weird but it was funny to me because before i came to school i was watching sponge bob and in sponge bob there is a plankton .  And That was basically it goodbye . 

Guinness World Record

Have you ever tried to break a Guinness World Record ? Well i have .. 

Me and my friends attempted to break a Guinness World Record .. the record we tried to break was Eating M&Ms with Chopsticks BlindFolded it might sound easy but its really hard . 

I was in a group with Delijah (myself) , Leilani , Pisirina and Eden . there were different choices of records we could try to break but we choose Eating M&Ms with Chopsticks BlindFolded, Our teacher Ms Tapuke provided the things we needed to complete this challenge . 

The Things We Needed To Complete This Challenge : 

• M&Ms 
• Chopsticks 
• Blindfolds 
• Our Group 

Before we attempted to try break the record we needed to practice , the person who broke the record ate 20 M&Ms  with Chopsticks BlindFolded so we practiced without a blindfold, it was really hard without a blindfold, then we put a blindfold and it was quite easy with a blindfold .

The first person in our group to try attempt eat M&Ms Blindfolded with chopsticks was Eden we gave eden 21 m&ms to eat and she only ate 4 but that was okay , Next up was Leilani she didn’t really try but she got 1 , Pisirina got 6 and on my first try i got 12 , my 2nd was 11 and my 3rd was 10 we didn’t break the record but it was worth a try ..

Guest Speackers

On Wednesday the 10th of April team 5 five had some special guest speakers.
The first person who stood up and talked about themselves was Jason Young.
Jason Young wanted to be a builder because he loves building he also,
Use to go to Pt England primary, Tamaki intimidate and Tamaki collage he pretty much spent his
whole childhood in glen innes The next person who went up to talk is Fiona. Fiona is Mrs.
Tele'a's sister. She is also on a program that's called casketeers the program is based on her job she is
a funeral director. The last person to talk Tanielu Tele' a he is Mrs. Tele' a son. So Tanielu has three siblings and he also plays for
blues we also asked all of the questions about them, they were very funny and kind ones after all of the
questions we all said thank you to them we also gave them a gift. So that was it.

Attitude Talks

Today after morning tea , Team 5 had a attitude talk it was about friendships factors . The person who was going to talk to us Jannah which meant Gracious Gift as you can tell she told us a little about herself . After that she started to talk about how boys friendships are different to girl friendships and she also told us the boys say 7000 words a day and that girls say 12,00 words a day.

We talked about girl to girl friendships, guy to guy friendships and girl to guy friendships. It was a funny and cool topic to talk about. She was very humorous because there were jokes that were very relatable. We also talked about how to make friends and how not to make friends. The myths of a friendship was another thing we talked about

ASB Polyfest MATHS

PolyFest 2019

On Wednesday the 13th of March team five went to the polyfest . We
did lot's of activities . When we got there, there were lots of other
schools getting of buses and and going inside . Once we went inside we walked to

where we were going to be the day sat down in the hot sun while

the helper we introducing her self once they finished we did fun rotations.

My group Pod four were the first one to do sport Waitakere . The man that was running

the game we were playing set up a course that our whole group had to participate
in , the aim of the game was to try and get your whole team a-cross the course
without touching the grass . but we had limited time there it was 10 minuets per
rotation when our time was up we went to a group we got put to the test to see if we
knew our pasifika country and flags we had to match the flag to the country if you
got them right you will win a pear of purple sunglasses. In our next rotation
We formed a circle and started playing a game called a thinking game.

Then we went to the Bright light community, we also did a game but it was about

teamwork we made a chain by bending under and grabbing the others person

hand behind. When we finished we went and sat down in front of the stage

and had lunch for about 15 minutes.

Then it was time for the performances but sadly there were no performances

but we did the polyfest dance challenge it was so cool.

But it was crowded with a lot of people . Then when we finished and went to the

stands we all got into our groups and went of my group got a lot of stuff it was really

fun i had dumplings and a strawberry smoothie . It was time to go back to school i
sad but happy i was sad because we had to leave polyfest but i was happy to leave
because my legs were killing me we finally got to school and it was time to go home .
Overall i had so much fun .
